Just imagine the troves of data to be mined and exploited. They (Google, Audi and anyone they choose to sell your data to) will know where you go, when and how often. They will know how long and where you stop for gas, how you drive and which music you listen to while driving. The possibilities for targeted advertising should be endless, from suggestions for coffee to selling you car accessories; and I&#8217;m sure this is just scratching the surface.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Aside from the fact that auto manufacturers haven&#8217;t been able to build a solid operating system for their cars, does anyone really need this? For me, a blank screen to connect my phone to is more than enough. It remains to be seen if people will be sold on giving up even more privacy while on the road in return for Google Now.<\/p>\n<p>I rather like Android, but I don&#8217;t trust Google one bit with my data. I also quite like Audi &amp; Volvo &#8211; they build some nice cars, but forcing Google&#8217;s data lust on drivers has me looking elsewhere; and that&#8217;s without even getting into Dieselgate or the fact that Volvo is owned by a Chinese company.
